Windows has not updated that software for several years. Yes, Microsoft is at the root, but Flickr has so many of us using this, why aren't they giving us some concrete, EASY TO UNDERSTAND direction? If Microsoft is no longer updating this tool, then the tool may be permanently broken from now on.Įven more likely is that the switch to the secure API has made it impossible for that unsecure bit of software to work with Flickr any more. Just today the API (the tools 3rd party apps like the Windows Photo Gallery use to communicate with Flickr) was updated to this secure protocol. But even that version was last updated in 2012.įlickr recently updated itself to support secure browsing. The newest version is just called "Windows Photo Gallery". One issue could be that if you actually are using "Windows Live Photo Gallery", it could just be that it's no longer being updated by Microsoft. At the very least you should be communicating with them about the issue, or looking at their help/faqs to see if it's a known issue. Note to anyone who wants to tell me Windows won't work and take it up with Windows, I believe Flickr should fix the issue, because a lot of us use Windows Live Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. As usual, I obtain a code to "type into the application" when I do that, the screen reverts back to the original "must authorize" screen. Even tho I had done that years ago, I went thru the process. Now over the last week I would get "MUST AUTHORIZE" when I try to upload. I have always used Windows Live Photo Gallery to (manage and edit +) upload my photos to Flickr.
